Seeing the abundance in You by Joseph Prince

…For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Luke 17:21

When you were younger, were you often scolded for not finishing all your food or leaving the lights and fan on when you left your room? Were you constantly reminded that there are people starving in the world, that electricity costs a lot of money and that money doesn’t grow on trees? Now, do you find yourself telling your child the same things?

We are naturally conscious of lack, but Jesus isn’t. Even in the midst of lack, He was always conscious of abundance. Remember the little boy’s five loaves and two fish? What did Jesus do when these were placed in His hands? Did He say, “What do you expect Me to do with so little?” No, His eyes were not on the natural, the visible, the lack. His eyes were on the kingdom of God where there is always abundance. So in His hands, the little boy’s lunch was multiplied, and 5,000 men, not counting women and children, were fed that day! (John 6:1–13)

God doesn’t want you to be conscious of the lack in your natural circumstances. He doesn’t want you to live by how much you earn or how much you have in the bank. Now, I am not encouraging you to spend foolishly beyond your means. I am saying that God wants you to be conscious of the abundance of resources in His kingdom.

“But Pastor Prince, where is that kingdom?”

As long as you have received Jesus as your Savior, that kingdom is in you!

Jesus said that “the kingdom of God is within you”. This means that the kingdom of God is not some physical place. It is within you and it is where the abundance of resources is. So if you want to experience abundance in your life, be conscious first of the abundance inside you. Then, what is inside you will become a reality on the outside.

Beloved, God doesn’t want you to be conscious of the lack you see outside you. He wants you to be conscious of the abundance within you because His kingdom is within you!

Thought For The Day
The kingdom of God, where there is always abundance, is within you!

  1. Hmmmmm!!!! this is an inspiring and encouraging excerpt. but do we ignore the feeling of LACK while close our eyes to the reality at stake while speaking faith?. i ask this question with this analogy. "there was a woman who was told that her son just had an accident, she quickly got up and spoke faith into the situation by saying, "this sickness is not unto death" ignoring the reality of the situation at hand, unfortunately the son died. are we saying she did not do the right thing by speaking faith and life into that circumstance? She did, why did things still turn out the way it did?

  2. No we do not have to close our eyes to reality while speaking Faith. Faith is the substance of things HOPED for, she would have taken this kid to the hospital & hope for healing which will eventually come by her Faith..now its not her fault that happened, it was a misinterpretation of Faith & its work. If you do not have Faith to heal common cold, don't expect your faith to raise d dead. It happened because of ignorance!

  3. Succinct! i positively agree with you YES! i'd agree with you. But should we ignore this saying "Beloved, God doesn’t want you to be CONSCIOUS of the lack you see outside you" speaking from my experience in my God wants us to be conscious of it Faith is simply confessing the Revelation of promise from the word of God through the Holy Spirit. Would God want us to play deaf and blind to our physical environment?. would we, saying we are gods, yet in a mortal body act as DIVINE SPIRITS? NO. We are naturally conscious of lack, Jesus was also conscious of lack when he was on earth. at the wedding ceremony there was no wine. CHRIST was conscious of it. at the feeding of the 5000 CHRIST was conscious of lack. CHRIST was conscious of LACK. the only difference i believe made CHRIST more distinct was the FACT that he wasn't overwhelmed or worried by LACK. When a tenants rents expires and the Landlord is knocking on his door at 6am in the Morning, Would we say he is not conscious of LACK, he definitely is. If our focus is drawn more to OVERCOMING WORRY in LACK. i think we would experience a more VICTORIOUS life as CHRISTIANS. in conclusion, ITOHAN i commend you for giving this honorable platform for us to express ourselves. That was a powerful excerpt. More Power to your elbow

  4. Now you are just getting the point! You do not have to ignore the realities but still you do not have to act in worry because we have Faith! We do not have to give up because we have Hope! Hope worketh Faith and Faith worketh miracles...You ignore realities by having Faith! Thanks for ur commendation but I thank God.

  5. And Christ wasn't conscious of Lack,He knew about the abundance He had inside Him that was why He broke the bread and it multiplied. IF he was conscious,He would have complained like d disciple did but instead,He prayed and broke the bread!

  7. faith is not denying the present but accepting Gods provision even in the face of the situation.

  8. Faith is not denying the present, faith is accepting Gods provision and supply for the situation and its not passive at all. One can't confess faith and not react to it else its not any difference from wishes. Long story short I have this personal defination of faith as; believe in your heart, confess with your mouth, and act on the sure word of God;
